Southern Sportive
Cyclosportives are something like cycling’s answer to the marathon. Long distance, sometimes-epic mass participation challenges, open to all comers, cyclosportives are the event of choice for a new generation of road rider. Cyclosportives are performance rides that allow you to focus on your own goals, whether that be achieving a personal best time target or simply completing an amazing and fun challenge.

Wilier are proud to support a fantastic new event in 2010. The Great Western Sportive on June 20th is an epic premier event in the heart of the south, from the organisers of the autumn classic Southern Sportive. With a full 100 mile top distance or a range of shorter routes to choose from, the Great Western Sportive is the ideal ride for everyone from the most seasoned sportive rider through to complete newcomers to the format.

Rolling across the ancient Ridgeway and winding through the beautiful Marlborough Downs, the route is a real treat, with broad, open roads echoing the sweep of the scenery. The folds of the Downs provide the gradients to put you to the test, but this is a ride to reward you for every challenge, not beat you relentlessly into submission. A rider’s ride, if you will.

Le Cycle award Wilier for the second year in a row
The Vélo de l’Année (“bicycle of the year”) is a Wilier Triestina again. Last year the renown French magazine Le Cycle awarded Cento1 as the best bike of the year; the same prize has been won in 2010 by Imperiale, the “bike designed by the wind”. More Info
