UK Cycling Events have completed their inaugural 2009 programme with two superb events.
The New Forest Sportive and the South Downs Sportive – backed by Wilier – were well organised, well-attended and well-loved by the riders who took part.
The two Sundays in October could not have been better in terms of weather and conditions. There were just spots of rain on the first event and, although it was cold, the sun shone for the entirety of the second.
Brockenhurst and Chichester colleges were the venue and they could hardly have been more appropriate with plenty of space for car parking and both indoor and outdoor facilities.
Wilier’s own Fat Tony worked with the outdoor team of time keeper Carol, starter Adrian and marshall Andy to get the hundreds of riders away and they found tough but fair courses for the Epic, Standard and Fun routes at both rides.
Next year UK Cycling Events, run by brothers Aaron and Martin Bardon have a full programme of rides in the north and south and plan races as well as sportive events.
