Triathlon Plus magazine is raving about the Wilier Imperiale and they have
devoted a full page to the bike in the latest issue. They say it’s a beautiful bike and we are inclined to agree with them! Read a short version of the write up here or buy the magazine from news stands.
Triathlon Plus’s reviewer had this to say about the Imperiale: “ It is built around a beautiful carbon monocoque road frame….this bike cruises gently away from competitors with less impressive wind-cheating capabilities…its a talented climber…this bike offers more versatility than a dedicated tri setup!”
The review shows that the journalist has completely understood the rationale behind the bike, namely that it is a full-on road-race bike with an aerodynamic frame and adjustable seatpost angle.
This makes it ideal for Triathletes to use the same bike for both triathlon TT races and sportives. Many triathletes compete on road bikes with clip-ons so this makes it a very attractive proposition as it makes it possible to attain a good aerodynamic position for race day without the expense of purchasing a dedicated TT bike.
At the same time, with its aero frame, pure-race bred handling and Italian styling it will appeal to road racers and sportive riders alike.
